Revelation 21

Kia ora e te whānau,
We are now 9 sleeps until Ascension Day and the beginning of our ten days of prayer. Woohoo!!! (Kirsty may have added that) We will join millions of Christians who are going to imitate the followers of Jesus as they waited for in prayer for Pentecost (Acts 1:14). Throughout the history of the church it seems that devotion to prayer (seeking God) has nearly always preceded an outpouring of God's Spirit, and I am so aware that without an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, we are ill equipped to accomplish the purposes of God where we live.
I have been saying recently that there is another Jesus movement coming. I think that is true. I long to see it. I am probably going to keep saying it until it comes. When God pours out his Spirit, people, neighbourhoods, and cities are significantly changed. Heaven comes to earth. It happened in Jerusalem and It has happened many times since all over the world. Why not here? Why not now? It seems to me that in our neighbourhoods there are too many people (and organisations) working too hard with too little results and too little joy. We need another Pentecost!
