The Prayer Course 1
This week we started The Prayer Course with Pete Greig. Session 1 is “Why Pray” and looks at prayer as a tool to help us connect with God. Jesus’ followers asked him to teach them how to pray. We can ask Jesus the same question. In reading the Lord’s Prayer in Luke 11:1-4 we are given the answer to that question asked over 2,000 years ago and the question we ask today.
Sometimes we over-complicate prayer or have expectations that our prayers need to be a certain way. Many of us find ourselves too busy or have other priorities. Yet, our relationship with God is our connection with the one who made us and loves us most fully. Without prayer, without conversation, the relationship doesn’t grow or even really exist.
The God who loves us and knows us is waiting for us to respond. Enter into the conversation by keeping it simple, keeping it real, and keeping it up.
